A trademark is a word, logo, design, symbol or slogan used to distinguish a company's goods or services as being distinct from those of others. A trademark may be registered or unregistered. A registered trademark is protected through registration at the relevant trademark office in various countries around the world (such as the United States Patent and Trademark Office). In many countries trademarks are entitled to legal protection whether they are registered or not.

Referential Use

You may generally refer to trademarks or product names owned by iSystems Inc. ("iSystems"), but not logos, provided that when you do so it is not disparaging,

and provided the reference does not mislead the public as to iSystems sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement of your company products or services. The iSystems corporate logo may only be used by third parties who are authorized to do so under license. For a list of iSystems trademarks and the proper way to refer to them, please refer to the iSystems Trademark List.

™ vs. %A8

Trademark rights are acquired and maintained by the proper, continuous use of the trademark. A trademark that has not been registered with a trademark is noted with a ™ in order to assert the owner's rights in it. A registered trademark is noted with a %A8. iSystems requires that you refer to our trademarks and registered trademarks properly. Proper reference includes the use of the appropriate trademark symbol (™ or %A8) at the first and most prominent reference and an ownership statement somewhere in the text (e.g. EnterFrame is a trademark of iSystems Inc.). Once marked it is not necessary to mark subsequent appearances of the trademark work. iSystems trademarks must always be used as adjectives followed by a generic term and never as nouns or verbs.

These guidelines are not intended to be a definitive statement of proper trademark usage. iSystems Inc. reserves the right to object to any use of iSystems trademarks that iSystems deems to be unlawful, improper, inappropriate or unauthorized. Further, iSystems reserves the right to revise these guidelines at any time without notice.
